Tempe is a Sydney-based artist. Her art-making is concerned with relationships between natural/urban environments. Through the physical mark-making process she researches a place/subject matter. Drawing, printing and layering are the main techniques used to find and develop the stories. In this case, Max Dupain’s photograph, “The Sunbather”, 1937 was the inspiration for the works with Clovelly as the location for the sunbathers and other bathers.
