‘I am a Danish artist living in Sydney and I mostly get my inspiration from nature’s small creatures and fascinating plant life. I pursue the more analogue methods of crafts and strive to source my materials as sustainably as possible.’
About the work
The print was made using Tiliqua Tiliqua’s press. The frame is second-hand.
The ‘Gumnut Koala’ seems to be a classic homage to the beautiful Australian nature, however there is an underlying environmental question, as the scene is actually depicting a plastic clip-on koala toy from Reverse Garbage, sitting on a gumnut branch found on the street. With the temperatures and sea levels rising, forests being cut down and while plastic product consumerism continues, will I ever see a real, wild and thriving koala?
