I am an artist and art educator living and working on Gadigal land. Inspired by the Soviet space dog program during the Cold War, my recent body of work delves into the trove of memorabilia and ephemera from that era. My art imagines a world where dogs remain the primary space pioneers, exploring humanity’s willingness to sacrifice nature in the relentless pursuit of progress. Influenced by science fiction pulp art and Russian propaganda, my work places pooches in absurd and satirical situations. To further distinguish this imagined world from our history, I incorporate an AI-generated language, creating a unique alternate reality.
