Samantha is a multi-disciplinary artist; fine art trained in drawing and sculpture she is a magnet for a process-based art practice. Like a Librarian, Samantha adheres to systems, she is looking for sameness and difference. Samantha sees lines and patterns everywhere, symmetries form and dissipate.
The Colour Fields Series developed from a chaotic vat of volume which became quilted fields of repetition. This work positions itself in the geometry of familiar childhood objects from 1970s primary school mathematic tools; Cuisenaire rods move between worlds, presenting the asymmetric complete with a painterly orbit.
Samantha Arnull is an Art educator for the NSW Dept of Education, she resides in Dharawal country with her daughter and their dog Lira the Italian greyhound. Samantha independently conducts workshops from her home studio and accepts commissions. Her work can be found in private National and International collections.
