Michelle Connolly is a mixed media artist often working with found material creating quirky characters to engage and entertain her audience. Her studio at May Street Studio, St Peters is full of her creations. Improvisation and play are key elements in her work. The assemblage sculptures that she makes are inspired by Paul Klees puppets, she has been making these since 2010.

Her first studio was in Wilmington North Carolina where she lived with her family 2007-2014. Whilst living in the US Michelle discovered outsider art, folk art and was inspired by works on found material. She exhibited her work in North Carolina and Maine and her art was used in several films and tv series including Under the Dome, Safe Haven, Sleepy Hollow and Witches of East End.
