Elizabeth Creixell is an emerging artist based in Sydney/Gadigal land. Currently her work explores the notions of grief and loss through deeply introspective relief prints and drawings. Utilising confessional style text and subjects such as insects (mosquitos, moths, flies) in her compositions, Elizabeth aims to normalise the turbulent process of grief and offer a quiet space of healing and contemplation to the audience. Elizabeth holds a Master of Fine Art (2020) and a Bachelor of Fine Art (2018) from the National Art School. Upon graduating in 2021, she has continued to exhibit across Sydney and Greater NSW. In 2023 her first solo exhibition SWARM’ was held at Little Yellow Studio Collective in Stanmore, co currently her public art was displayed in front of Lane Cove Library. Elizabeth was an Artist-in-Residence at Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios in 2023. She was a semi finalist for the Tony White Memorial Art Prize (2020), was a finalist for the Lloyd Rees Youth Art Award (2019), and was a recipient of the Sydney Olympic Park Residency Award (2018).
