“I’m a multi-form artist currently delving into intuitive abstract painting. I draw inspiration from my past life as a dancer and my curiosity about how our brains work, which fuelled a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2009.
My pieces are like a tapestry of beliefs and life experiences, unfolding in layers that reflect how these things shape and influence our perspectives and actions. I love to use water with my paint to create a transparent effect that maintains glimpses of the many layers below.
The dance background in me spills onto the canvas with curvy, wild lines, giving my works a dynamic, flowing feel. I’m obsessed with vibrant colours – they capture that joy I had as a child and I approach my art with that same curious, playful spirit.
As a self-taught painter, I embrace the freedom to create without constraints, allowing for pure and unfiltered expression. My works emanate from a place untethered by rules, driven solely by the simplicity of genuine self-expression. Through my art, I invite viewers to delve into the intricate tapestry of human experience, where each layer reflects the amalgamation of beliefs and moments that shape our unique perspectives on the world.
Most importantly, I create as a means to maintain my mental health. The process of creating is a wonderful journey inward which releases itself onto the canvas. “
