Stu Doherty’s works observe and dissect moments of dry and unexpected beauty from the landscape that surround his studio on the land of the Birpai people, Mid North Coast NSW.

His detailed watercolour paintings are calm and serene, glorifying the simple grace of objects gathered from the local bush land.

Reflection versus reality; reconfiguring the elements of the landscape into reflections, Doherty creates windows into a stark, dreamlike kaleidoscope that invites moments of contemplation and reflection.
