We are very proud to offer our first workshop at Tiliqua Tiliqua, organised to coincide with our inaugural Printmaker Show.
This two day course is designed specifically for artists and creatives wishing to expand into or further their understanding of printmaking. Over the weekend, we will cover the fundamentals of etching on perspex, water-based monotype and woodcut as well as including many playful experimental printmaking techniques like eucalyptus transfer and Origami printing. We will also explore hybrid printmaking, which is the combination of different techniques in the same print.
No printmaking experience is necessary, however a keenness to experiment and try things out is a must.
All essential materials will be provided (including inks, blocks, plates, paper, tools, printing materials etc). All participants will be able to create multiple prints throughout the two days. Limited to a very small group, there will be plenty of one on one time with the teacher, time to ask questions and experiment.
Teaching this course is Katika Schultz, a Sydney based artist and printmaker. Katika is currently studying for her Masters at the National Art School and holds regular workshops for adults and children of all ages. Her work has been selected for many prestigious art prizes around Australia and she has won numerous grants and residencies.
