As an artist I tend to primarily work in black and white, and it has been a goal of mine to learn to work more with colours. When I saw the theme of Magenta for this show I immediately thought of a roll of heavily expired film I had developed a year ago, Which had totally lost its yellow colour somehow. I’ve wanted for a while to experiment with splitting colour photos into CMYK and printing each layer in an etching, and making it a CMK print means it’s less complicated to make so it seemed like a good project to start with.
