Jules is a contemporary landscape painter living in Western Australia. Drawing inspiration from her previous farming life, journeys through the outback and overseas, Jules works predominantly in acrylics and enjoys the process of mark making in many forms. While strongly inspired by nature, Jules’ work often will develop into an otherworldly interpretation, as she leans away from purely representational painting.

These works were made following a month-long journey through central Australia in 2023. They reflect a sentimental superficial vibrancy that travelers often seek and see, which hides the sometimes dark history that lies beneath the surface.
