ABOUT THE ARTIST

‘Colour is a fickle subject because it changes in front of our eyes, depending on where it is or what colour it is next to, or what form it is presented in, our perception of this subject alters. ‘Untitled #2’ is part of a series of multi-block woodcuts that explore circles of colour. Circles carved into the wood matrix are hand-printed using a baren, and these circles mingle together in different configurations, and in varied shades of pink (including magenta) along with other colours, like yellow. A simple focus on one shape, the circle, means that there is more time to play with the endless possibilities of colour.

‘Furball’ is a wearable miniature sculpture and a physical commentary on the subject matter of my printing practice. It explores the interaction between colour, form, and texture, and provides a new dimension of tactile sensation different from printmaking.’
