Guns have long been a fetish object. They are well designed and if you have a look on the internet, you will find stylishly made to downright kitsch ones. Guns have been designed for children and teens in attractive colours, this of course is primarily in the USA. I have seen a Hello Kitty Gun, and a beautifully decorated gun in the tradition of the blue and white Willow pattern.
But essentially, guns maim and kill people.
I am exploring the idea of fetish and considering how making a gun an attractive object has the capacity of changing our relationship to it.
