In her still-life paintings Monika will look to the objects in her life that portray a sense of intimacy and the friendships that matter. This hand-thrown ceramic mug with a subtle green glaze was crafted by fellow artist and dear friend, Yori Price. Both Monika and Yori attended the National Art School together almost two decades ago as printmaking majors. Although their mediums have changed, their love of creativity and support of one another has never dulled.
Monika Viktoria Diak is an artist based on the Central Coast of NSW. She teaches drawing and painting both at Gosford Regional Art Gallery and Art Est in Leicchardt. Monika was the winner of the Bluethumb Art Prize Portraiture category in 2022, a finalist in the Gosford Art Prize and Lakes Art Prize in 2022, Naked and Nude Prize 2021, and Blue Mountains Portrait Prize both in 2021 and 2022. She has successfully exhibited four solo shows over the last three years.
