This is a retrospective exhibition looking back at a single theme explored across two decades of drawing.
Taking castles as a central visual motif Andrew Ensor brings a dreamlike quality to his unique illustrative style. His pieces, softly merging pen and paint, present a romanticised, yet fragile view of the world while exploring the aesthetics of entropy.
Across the body of work a creative vision emerges, allowing viewers to experience richly coloured worlds of surreal landscapes and architectural compositions, telling intricate stories of grandeur, fragility and timelessness.
The works appear here as they appear in the gallery, starting from the left wall in the front room.
Andrew Ensor is a Sydney based artist.
This is his 37th solo exhibition.
