ABOUT THE WORK
Conceived and begun during the restrictions of Covid lockdown, this work has evolved as I experienced the further restrictions to my life imposed by long Covid. These are intimate pieces created as I explored the possibilities the amazing media, paper, provides combined with the processes available to me in a domestic setting — rust printing, eucalypt dyeing, slow stitching.
These pieces are meditations on the longer walks I dream of making, and the memories of walks I have taken, in the far south coast landscapes that delight and inspire me. They are explorations of topographies, remembered and imagined, of the far south coast landscapes that I love. They simultaneously connect me to them, and represent my disconnection from them as each topography nestles in its discrete box environment.
