Tiliqua Studio joins MOST

Tiliqua Studio is part of the Marrickville Open Studio Trail for 2015!

Over the weekend of the 28th and 29th of March, we will be opening our studio doors to anyone and everyone who is interested to see inside. There will be work on display from the artists and designers who call Tiliqua Studio home, and (with luck) a chance to see the printing presses in action.

When: 11 am to 4 pm | Saturday and Sunday 28th and 29th March 2015

Where: 40 Hutchinson St, St Peters

We are looking for Designers

Our co-work design studio currently has three pods available for graphic designers of any flavour.

The pods come with a nice office chair, shelves for your stuff and include one lockable cupboard. In the studio there are a couple of meeting tables and a lunch table and kitchen (microwave, fridge and coffee machine). Outgoings included in the rent; internet, electricity, water and public liability insurance. Designers also have access to the studio A2 inkjet printer at minimal cost (basically, you supply your own paper).

As you have already poked our this site you will know that there is a printmaking workshop downstairs. Subject to negotiation designers can have access to the workshop that now includes a letterpress with wood and metal type.

All this for $445 per month (+gst) on a 12 month contract (our preferred contract period).

Contact us for a personal tour and get the ‘spiel’ in person.

and the winner (most deservedly) is…

It is with so much pride and excitement that we announce that Michele was awarded the 2013 Libris Artists Book Award for ‘Wave Form’ last night. This is Australia’s premier national artist’s book prize, and Michele’s book was selected from a line-up of ninety finalists. The prize is most deserved, and we are very happy for her (and would love to give her suggestions for how to spend the prize money…)

The book will be on display at Artspace Mackay until the end of June.

beach walk (Murramurang)

An ongoing series documenting walks along the high tide mark on Murramurang Beach on the south coast of New South Wales. A lovely beach, a wonderful walk. Just point the iPhone and shoot, whatever it captures, I draw. Highlight walks include the strangeness of seeing dozens of freshly dead fish, swept in by the storm the night before, stretching in a line along the beach to the confusion of the gulls.
